So we drove over with Brook, got the keys, went inside. Dave decided to retest for Covid. It was positive. Well, furk. I put a mask on. I went back to IHO HMS and gathered up the last of our things. Then I went to the storage unit and crammed everything that I could find that was an “open first box.” I was unable to locate the two “open first kitchen” boxes or the garbage can. I then drove back to the apartment. Unloaded everything despite my protesting back. Then I went to Spectrum as they gave us the wrong modem. Then to the grocery store to pick up necessities to last us until Monday.
Today, Thursday, 6/8, I tested negative. So I masked up and went to Lowe’s, City Mill (local store a lot like Lowe’s) then Target (for like 8 pedalytes). Now, we at least have enough to survive.
If David does not test negative tomorrow, we have to postpone getting all of our BIG things — storage cabinets, bedroom furniture.
It is so quiet here. We are 7 floors up. We are at a corner. The views are lovely. I’ll post pictures when David is aware enough to his phone. My camera on my phone is broken.
We also have a mailing address here. So convenient. And the garbage drop is right near our apartment. And our parking spot is right near the elevator.
This place is gloriously quiet. No roosters. No drug addict neighbors venting. No feral cats. I can breathe in here. I will test again tonight and everyday until we know if I caught Covid. We are not planning on going anywhere until Monday at least.
