he stayed home from work to help me.
(1) We went to Kaiser. Yes, Maui was on fire. So was I. We went to the admin office because everyone told us to just use the phones. Phones have NOT helped me in two and a half months. I marched into the admin office. (Thank you Conley blood line.) There was one lady in it. I was crying I was so frustrated. David stepped in and explained what I needed. And hour later, we had confirmed my member ID number (it had changed …. again), that it was working, got me registered on the website (since my old login was deleted) and everything was pretty much solved. Oh, she ordered me a new card with my name on it.
then
(2) David helped me through the phone process of figuring social security issues. This took over two hours on the phone. I finally got a lady who did not just say “use the online portal” and heard me when I said, “I cannot access the SS Admin online.” Apparently when I changed my info with ID me first — it put a block on me. She then found a back door to getting me the piece of paper with the online confirmation I needed in order to do a walk in to our local office here.
… … I did the walk in for my new social security card the next day. I waited 10 minutes. It took three minutes for the lady behind the counter to get what she needed.
And … voila ….. two things that have been making me feel insane, alone and without hope finished!
